Eye exams for contact lenses include special tests that typically are not performed in routine eye exams for eyeglasses. If you are interested in contacts or you want to have your contact lens prescription updated please make sure to let us know before you schedule your appointment. Scleral lenses
Scleral lenses are used to treat Keratoconus and warped corneas, following trauma or corneal transplants. They provide a very comfortable option with superior vision that can not be achieved with spectacle lenses for these patients. Ortho-K rigid contact lenses
Ortho-K rigid contact lenses can be worn at night and be used like a corneal retainer, and can be taken off where a young patient may not need any correction during the day. An evaluation is needed to determine if one is a good candidate for such treatment.
